Following on the heels of three 400+ sold out shows I am excited to present the second in a series of ongoing Travel Adventure presentations with new images and experiences working as photographer in resident with One Ocean Expeditions.
Antarctica-In Depth, showcases South Georgia, a British overseas Territory located within the South Sandwich Islands in the Southern Atlantic Ocean. Located about 1500km south east of the Falkland Islands, this small outcrop of the Andes Mountain Range reaches up above the Southern Ocean to heights of 9000 ft with saw-tooth like peaks that give way to a tortured glacial landscape eventually making its way back into the stormy waters of the Southern Ocean. It is a truly remote and godforsaken place difficult to get to yet touted as the Serengeti of the Polar world. On the eluvial plains of Fortuna Bay, St. Andrews and Salsbury Plain, King Penguin colonies a quarter million strong greet the occasional visitor to the low lying, surf blasted beaches. For those history buffs interested in Shackleton’s Endurance Expedition South Georgia is the holy grail! Names now written in history, King Hakkon Bay, Stromness, the Shackleton Waterfall and Shackleton’s grave at Grytviken are all showcased in this presentation.
The Antarctic Peninsula extends its long narrow arm out from the top of the Antarctic Continent and it is here where the short Antarctic summer season allows for a quick nip and tuck thru the waters of the Bransfield and Gerlache Strait, where wind and ice rule. Penguins, Whales and Seals are the wildlife attractions here along with the incredible landscape of the Antarctic continent.
This presentation takes place on Tuesday the 30th of January at the Stan Hagen Theatre. Advance tickets are $15.00 or $20.00 at the door, with partial proceeds going to the Cumberland Community Forest Society, a non-profit I am proud to support!

Its been a joy to be shooting alongside Boomer, sharing perspectives on photos and learning how he operates . He’s a thinker and this makes you think . . . and that’s the best route to taking better pictures’
Chris Packham , BBC Broadcaster & Photographer ” the next David Attenborough”
