Change in Venue!! “Polar Adventure: Off the Beaten Path” Photo Presentation now at Stan Hagen Theatre

Important Announcement: Change in Venue for the Photo-Presentation and Lecture “Polar Adventure: Off the Beaten Path”

There is a change in venue for Boomer Jerritt’s photo-presentation and lecture to be held now at the Stan Hagen Theatre at North Island College in Courtenay.  Join Boomer in the New Year for this informative and visual feast for the eyes highlighting his second trip this year to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia (main Island within the South Sandwich Islands). As photographer-in-residence aboard the Akademik Ioffe with One Ocean Expeditions, Boomer will be sharing images and experiences gathered from his recent one month journey to the wildlife paradise of South Georgia Island and the rich and diverse landscape of the Antarctic Peninsula. In this 1 hour photo presentation Boomer will invite you to explore this isolated and extreme region of our planet with it’s foreboding landscape, mountainous icebergs and unique polar wildlife including chinstrap, rockhopper, macaroni, gentoo and adelie penguin colonies, whales, seals and sea birds as they are captured in front of the camera lens in this remote and magical place. See where historic whaling stations still stand, a testament to a bygone era of sealing and whaling and where Shackleton’s epic struggle for survival played out on the shores of Elephant Island and South Georgia! I’m looking forward to spending this exciting evening with you!!

Presentation Date: Wednesday January 11, 2017
