Antarctica In-Depth: A Photographer’s Journey
A must-see presentation for those interested in nature photography, outdoor and adventure enthusiasts, and historians interested in the Shackleton Expedition (1914-1917)!
‘Antarctica In-Depth’ is one of a series of travel adventure presentations by noted photographer Boomer Jerritt who regularly travels south…way down south to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia in the South Sandwich Islands – a heavily glaciated environment which plays host to huge tabular icebergs, feeding humpback whales, leopard seals, and of course, those funny, curious king penguins!
Along with incredible landscape and wildlife images, Antarctica-In Depth takes you to destinations steeped in history covering the heroic age of Antarctic exploration, Boomers stories of his travels, experiences and ship board life are tinged with humour yet also thought provoking. Antarctica-In Depth helps to foster knowledge and hopefully create ambassadors of the audience for this wild and fragile polar region of our planet.
The presentation is approximately 90 minutes long including a question and answer period. Start time is 7pm, doors open at 6:30pm. Advance tickets are $18.00ea (available soon on this site!) or $20.00 at the door, cash only.
Partial proceeds from this event are going to the Powell River Climbing Co-op.
